New Year, New Word

sparkle ice intention quote

There is one little word that has been surfacing a lot lately.  When it pops up it often pins me in a corner and it makes me squirm.  You see when this word weaves its way to me through questions and I don’t always have thoughtful answers.

Last weekend we saw the flick, American Hustle.  Stellar movie! My favorite moment? When Jennifer Lawrence’s character says, in referencing Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book, “It’s all about the power of intention.”  The line simply dropped without much fanfare; but I froze in my seat.

What is this scary little word knocking at my door?

intenion

Intention: thoughtful behavior that is deliberate and goal-directed.

2014 will require some soul-searching and focus!  Stay tuned…  2013 was a gentle year.  I floated along without big goals or defined plans.  I loved the gentle rhythm; but I am feeling energized now and ready to embrace purpose.  Honestly, I am a wee bit scared and intimidated by this word.

Well, there you have it…

i n t e n t i o n.

I have talked about the power of one little word before (here and here).  The brilliant creator of the one little word project, Ali Edwards explains it best on her AE blog.

My wish for you?

I hope one tiny word finds its way into your heart.

Embrace, invite and live with one little word in 2014.

I would love, love, love to hear your word!

Happy, Happy New Year!

LOVE LOVE LOVE reading your blogs Debbie… Such a neat way to feel connected to you!! This one is simply brilliant! Not sure what word to embrace for 2014 as I often continue to use the word FAITH- as it has been my nick name for the past few years. I will have to do a little bit of pondering and I will get back to you on it! Love and miss you much friend! Hugs to the family and I hope to talk to you soon!
