Tick Tock: In the Moment via Yoga

IMG_2487

“Sometimes I feel like if you just watch things,

just sit still and let the world exist in front of you –

sometimes I swear that just for a second time freezes

and the world pauses in its tilt. Just for a second.

And if you somehow found a way to live in that second, then you would live forever.”

― Lauren Oliver

It was a spring ahead weekend where we spent time adjusting our clocks.  The weekend was a blur…full of activity that left me searching to regain the hour we “lost.”

I did “find” meaningful moments; moments where I tuned into grateful… and for more than the duration of a shutter click behind the camera.  Baby steps…

Favorite Moments!

1.) The live music provided by Girish was incredible.  During savasana, he played a special version of Diamonds in the Sun that literally transformed me with its tender and inspired rhythm.  The lyrics instantly melted me with a thousands mentions of “shine.”  If I were to translate the song’s meaning, I believe its message is…

shine, like a diamond in the sun

shine, with a wide open heart

let your inner light manifest in joy for others

shine on

I found a more official Diamonds in the Sun translation online…

Lokah Samaastha Sukhino Bhavantu - roughly translates to: may all beings everywhere be happy and free, and through my thoughts, words, and actions, may I, in some way, contribute to the happiness of others.

I purchased Diamonds in the Sun and added it to my Shine playlist!  Girish music is available on iTunes and via his website.

2.) I loved listening to the closing comments.  There was an invitation to shift our heart to one of acceptance and gratitude.  ”We are all on the same path; all leaning into acceptance and love.”

3.) Kind Lululemon ambassadors were sprinkled amid the yogis providing additional yoga guidance throughout the museum space.  As the event wrapped up, my daughter was gifted with a LuluLemon headband which perfectly matched her chosen shirt.  She was thrilled with the gesture of kindness!
